| The entrance to the fest. What a crowd of people at 10 in the morning!
| Inside the grounds, just in the main entrance.
| One shop had these huge bronze giraffes for sale.
| The giraffes again, eating the trees.
| I think this one's the globe theater, typical of one of the stages for performances. Not sure who was performing here - most of the performances I happened through involved some guys on stage entertaining the kids.
| Hey, a flower stand. Cool!
| Elephant rides, anyone?
| What a wrinkly old guy. (The elephant, that is.)
| How about a camel ride?
| Or a ride on a giant swing?
| More of the grounds, this area is closer to the racetracks.
| More swings.
| Neighbors bothering you? How about a nice cannon for home defense?
| The faire always seems to be growing. This stretch of new tents was set up in an area that had just been mostly open/grassy meadow in previous faires. I expect before much longer they'll be converted to permanent structures, like most of the rest of the faire shops.
| Here's another new item (new to me, anyway - it wasn't here last time I was, a few years ago)... the haunted dungeon/castle.
| Another pic of the haunted castle.
| The Odeon Stage.
| Another shot of the grounds and various shops.
| The cursing well. "Feel your life could be no worse? toss in a coin... and make a curse! curse your enemies, curse your fate. Curse pain, stupidity, war and hate! And if you make your curses well, you'll send your demons back to Hell! (No wishing please!)"
| Another view of the cursing well.
| Steak on a stick, anyone? The faire has so many different kinds of food. All "fast" food, of a sort - you walk up to the window and get it fast. ;) Turkey legs, sausage, steak on a stick, boudin, shrimp, pickles, corn on the cob, bloomin onions, fajitas, nachos, funnel cakes, etouffe, pizza, lasagna, apple dumplings, eggrolls, buffalo wings, fried mushrooms, fish and chips, crab cakes, red beans and rice, bbq sandwiches... and more. Plus there's beer and wine/wine coolers. I had my traditional turkey leg, and an apple dumpling (baked apple in a dough crust, topped with ice cream). Yummy.
