Pensacola Naval Air Museum

The Museum of Naval Aviation is a must-see for any aviation enthusiast. It is located on the grounds of the Pensacola Naval Air station, where US Naval Aviators learn to fly and get their wings. NAS Pensacola is also home to the Blue Angels, when they aren't out touring. You can watch the Blue Angels practice on certain days of the year, or catch their airshow in November.

The Museum itself features over 140 restored Navy aircraft, and includes everything from the oldest biplanes to the most modern jet fighters. One wing of the museum is a mockup of a WW2 aircraft carrier deck, and features aircraft from the era. A seven-story glass-enclosed atrium houses four A-4 Blue Angels suspended in diamond formation from the ceiling. You can take a ride in the museum's full-motion flight simulator, watch a movie in the IMAX theater, or take a bus tour of the flight line. And if you get hungry, you can stop at the Cubi Bar Cafe for a sandwich (they've got the best tunafish sandwiches I've ever tasted).

The museum is open year-round (except for major holidays), and admission is free (although there is a charge for the IMAX and motion simulator).
