About Kira

Welcome to the website of Jacqueline Kira Hamilton. (That's me.) I've been staked out on the web since the "early days" (way back in '93). While I don't remember the exact date, I distinctly remember the events of the afternoon when I first pulled up NCSA Mosaic on my Mac at work. I was so excited, I dragged my boss and a coworker over to see it. Not sure any of us realized the significance of it, but that day and the web has definitely changed my life. I built my own web page soon after, and my friend Josh got me to learn Perl, and from there I took up CGI coding. I soon left my old job and moved on to doing part- and full-time work as a CGI grunt and webslinger for various companies. Eventually I turned my CGI and writing skills to good use and wrote my own book - CGI Programming 101, which teaches CGI programming to beginners.

I'm currently a contract web programmer. I also build web apps on the side. My portfolio has links to some of them.
