Florida & Alabama
These photos were taken around the Alabama gulf coast and Florida Panhandle. Destin is a popular Florida beachfront town, though the beaches are much the same all along the panhandle - the main difference is the homes and hotels clustered along the shoreline. As you get further east towards Seaside, there are fewer big hotels and condos, and more pastel beach homes.
If you're an aviation buff, visiting the two flight museums is a must. The Air Force Armament Museum is in Fort Walton Beach, just east of the Ft. Walton regional airport. Pensacola NAS is, of course, in Pensacola, and has an incredible collection of naval aircraft on display. And in nearby Mobile, there's also the World War II battleship USS Alabama, and the submarine USS Drum, on display at battleship park off I-10.
Fairhope is a beautiful little town on the eastern shore of Mobile Bay, between Mobile and Gulf Shores. Its tree-lined, pedestrian-friendly downtown seems a cross between old-town-South and French Quarter, and is filled with a variety of art galleries, cafes and specialty shops.
